The bald eagles on Ninilchik Beach have easy pickin's from the halibut carcasses tossed overboard by the charter boats after cleaning. This guy sitting on the rock in the middle left had had his fill. The little village of Ninilchik, made up mostly of rickety shacks nestled into the curves of the Ninilchik River, was originally settled in the 1800's by Russian colonists. Even after William H. Seward negotiated to buy Alaska from Russia in 1867 for $7.2 million, many residents decided to stay. #kenai #ninilchik #airstreamtoalaska #russianorthodox #baldeagle #mtredoubt
