Hood River and Portland, OR

Our good friends @nomadlyinlove (check out the blog from their epic pre-Instagram four year drive from Oregon to Tierra del Fuego at SprinterLife.com) are based out of Hood River, so we were excited to check it out, even though they're now off on their next adventure on the road in an RV near Bishop, CA. After a harrowing tow across the narrow, grated Hood River Bridge (pics to come), we're at a nice RV park minutes from all the breweries, coffee shops and gear stores. Gorilla is not a very food motivated dog, and sometimes (like every night) we forget to feed her. The other times, we feed her twice since we just assume the other of us forgot. Our spot at the Columbia River RV park in Portland is not terribly glamporous, but we actually find this park to be really convenient for exploring the town. This morning, we found a great dog park and a playground right near a Whole Foods and a kids consignment store in the Irvington neighborhood. Last few to-do's before leaving Portland this morning: Blue Star Donuts at the recommendation of @jesscurren (Hard Apple Cider Fritter and Mexican Hot Chocolate), swing by the garage converted by Bryan and Jen Scott (TheDangerz.com) into a tiny house so they could rent out their big house to live more simply and fund adventures like their Pan Am roadtrip in a vintage VW bus for a quick mind meld, and drop off a box of stuff at Goodwill (the purging gets even *more* important once you live in under 200 sq ft). #donuttravel #airstream #pdx #portland
