Today's 4 hour and 15 minute drive has already taken us 9 1/2 hours, but that's with stops along the beautiful Hwy 40 heading south out of Banff to take in some incredible Fall colors and another in the southern plains for a nap. Even after a long day, the sight of one of these racecar shopping carts never fails to excite the kids. We'll feed 'em dinner in the parking lot of the grocery store so we can just dump 'em in bed after the final half hour push to Waterton Lakes. Then, it's beer:30. #travelwithkids #airstreamwithkids #fulltimefamilies

Looks like the drive was worth it. We booked this lakefront spot at Waterton Lakes about a week ago. At first, there were only sites on the other loops available, but then I changed the search criteria from "Trailer up to 27'" down to "Trailer up to 24'" and this one appeared. In this case, they weren't joking; The rear bumper is touching the log at the back of the site and the truck just clears the road diagonaled in next to the tongue! #airstream #liveriveted #myrivetedlife #watertonlakes #alberta

Granted the only hikes we did today were two blocks into town to the playground and then to get a double scoop of mint chocolate chip in a chocolate dipped waffle cone and again in the evening for a jalapeƱo cheddar sausage and fries at "The Weiner," but we're still pretty impressed with Waterton National Park. #watertonlakes #watertonnationalpark #alberta #theweiner

@boldadventure and @herboldadventure have been going on and on about the importance of correct tire pressure when going off-road, so we figured we'd give it a try... on the double stroller in effort to give our backs a rest from hiking with kid packs. The trail alongside Cameron Lake was *just* wide enough for us to make it all the way out to the viewing platform below the avalanche slopes that bloom with a cornucopia of the berries and roots that Grizzlies love. After reading all the warnings, we were actually okay with not coming face to face with one. And after pushing that stroller all the way out there, of course Mae insisted on being carried and Wynne insisted on walking. #familytravel #watertonlakes #watertonnationalpark #thule #thulechinook #thulechariot
