Heading to Utah

Stocking up to hit the road tomorrow. Adding these over-extending pantry drawers above and below where we removed the microwave and extended the countertops was key for food storage for full-time travel.

Happy to be on the road again dance! Okay, fine technically it's a happy we bought chips when we stopped for lunch dance (and she might also have to go potty). Either way, we're back in the Airstream and on our way to Utah for the month! #airstreamwithkids #followthesunapparel

Probably a typical first day of travel. We got into the car an hour later than planned, stopped for gas just up the block, realized we were already hungry for lunch and stopped again. With another break at a playground in Hollister, it was just after 5 pm when we pulled into the Pinnacles National Park campground. While I dumped the trailer, Ann went into the visitor center to give them our name and get the number for the site we'd reserved.

We prowled the campground loop looking for site number 113, but when we finally pulled up, someone was in it, and despite my first and last name being clearly marked on the post, something about their external 50lb propane tank told me they weren't going anywhere anytime soon. We slunk back to the store to tattle on them.

Except, as it turned out, they were actually in the right spot, and the guy and I have the same name. Directed to the *other* spot reserved in our name, we disappointed a couple lounging in front of a class B with a smooth back in and lack of mobile marital bickering.

Despite a late start yesterday immediately followed by a spirited discussion about the merits of a stopping for bananas at a grocery store that was close by versus one that was in the direction we were heading (which was actually just a continuation of the discussion we'd had the day before but about gas stations) and a long lunch with California poppies and human idiocy in full bloom as folks with multiple outfit changes undertook vanity photoshoots while trampling the very flowers they'd driven out there to see and a stream of people including a pregnant woman and a guy wearing a shirt with the words "Dumbfuck" on it tried to slip through the tight horizontal courses of barbed wire just outside the trailer window, we made it up into the high desert just before sunset. #thedayfeltaslongasthatsentence #mojavenationalreserve #highdesert
